The Health Minister Maggie De Block (Open VLD) told L’Echo there would be “enough Inami numbers for all medical students doing their 4th Master year”. She added she “didn’t see why Deans weren’t handing out the certificates” students needed for their specialisation Master.
Deans of medical faculties are demanding a political agreement between the Higher Education Minister Jean-Claude Marcourt and the federal Health Minister before they hand out the certificates.
An agreement protocol is ready, says Mrs De Block. “In this protocol, I offer a complete solution for all students who are surplus to the fixed quotas, up to the year 2020”.
On the contrary, the Higher Education Minister Jean-Claude Marcourt (PS) says the federal Minister didn’t follow up on the Community’s comments. They are at a complete standstill.
However, the federal minister says “the protocol contains nearly all the adaptations proposed by the community ministers. They just need to sign it”.
