Euro Disney is launching a major recruitment campaign for Disneyland Paris throughout Europe, and in particular, they will visit Brussels (at the Bip, house of the capital region) on Tuesday, March 17th from 9am to 6pm. The well-known amusement park is looking to recruit at least 8,000 employees, including 1,000 with long-term contracts, in the fields of hospitality, sales, catering, and hotel management. Applications are welcome until midnight on March 7th on the park's website. As happens every year, Euro Disney is organising a vast recruitment campaign in Europe. Mickey and Minnie’s bosses will reach out to Polish, Estonian, German, Dutch and Belgian applicants in particular throughout March. There are no country quotas so each country's applicants will have as much chance of joining Walt Disney’s world as each other.
In spite of the numerous unsolicited applications they get, Disney opts to recruit internationally every year. Disneyland Paris is the first tourist destination in Europe and most visitors hail from EU countries, so speaking foreign languages is crucial The main selection criteria is being able to speak at least one other language on top of French. “Other criteria are a willingness to work holidays and weekends but also being a good team-player”, said Elisabetta Marigliano, head of communication for Disneyland.
Once chosen, new employees are housed in studio apartments or in flat-shares offered by the group and located very close to their place of work. The average rent is around 300 euros, which includes all bills and expenses. The minimum contract will be 35 hours per week which will be paid 1,500 euros gross. The new employees will join the 15,000 people currently working at the park, including approximately 100 Belgians, and will thus blend in with citizens of over 100 countries speaking around 20 different languages and doing over 500 different jobs.
Specifically, potential candidates have until midnight on March 7th to apply. A shortlist of approximately 100 will be drawn up based on their CVs, and they will be called in for interview on March 17th between 9am and 6pm. The interviews will take place at the Maison de la Region (Bip) in Rue Royale in Brussels. “Once chosen, new team members get on-site training to help them develop new skills and benefit from an experience valued for its quality,” maintains Disneyland.
