Almost 180 jobs at stake at TP Vision in Zwijnaarde

Some 178 of the 238 jobs at television manufacturer TP Vision in Zwijnaarde are threatened. The coming process of collective termination was revealed during a special works council session, according to Christian union LBC.

TP Vision, a former Philips television manufacturer which was since bought by a Taiwanese firm, moved from Bruges to a technology park in Zwijnaarde in 2014.

According to union leader Swat Clerinx (LBC), though investments were made, employees were asked to “accurately share” the expertise and technology developed by TP Vision. The union is hoping for more information from management.

Staff note as well that the company took full advantage of every opportunity to get support and subsidies for its Zwijnaarde site.
