Work will resume Monday at Arlon Prison

Prison agents on strike at the Arlon Prison, who met Tuesday at a general assembly, decided to resume work next Monday, we were informed by André Paquay, CSC Delegate of Arlon Prison. The agents chose to cease the strike underway for almost 50 days at Arlon Prison and other establishments of the South of the country.

“The return to work was decided by a weak majority. No vote was taken, but everyone was invited to state his or her position. We have no guarantees, no progress and feel very frustrated. We however expect to reach some arrangements through dialogue with the local directorate,” hopes the union representative. “A loss of impetus is evident; some people were no longer able to face the financial loss,” he stated.

Work should begin anew completely and under normal conditions at the Arlon Prison at the beginning of next Monday.
