In the last 12 months, the number of job offers in Flanders reached its highest level in five years, showed figures from VDAB, the Flemish employment office, pointing to greater employer confidence. According to the figures released on Thursday (8 September), VDAB received 18,559 offers in August, not including those for temporary jobs. This figure is 25.3% higher than in August 2015. In one year the number of job offers received reached 210,998, which is 25.8% higher than in the last 12 months.
The highest increase last month was in offers for highly-qualified workers: +58% compared to August 2015. The most common fields are in ICT, media, telecommunications, and health care.
