De Lijn Buses in Antwerp should run normally on Saturday morning, the Flemish public transport company announced on Friday. Spontaneous “walkouts” took place on Friday afternoon following two cases of assault.
Bus traffic was disrupted on Friday between Antwerp and the north of the province after the assault of a woman driver on the Sint-Jansplein line. The victim was hospitalized. Colleagues in three bus depots in the north of the city stopped working spontaneously.
More drivers interrupted their run on the Antwerp urban network following a second case of aggression later on Friday.
According to De Lijn, the social movement was to end Friday evening and traffic should be normal again on Saturday morning.
