Brussels unemployment rate has been reduced for the 54th consecutive month, according to Actiris, Brussels public employment office. By the end of April, Brussels region counted 86,931 job seekers, a decrease of 2,436 people or an official unemployment rate of 15.5%.
This is a 2.7% decrease compared to last year and is in effect the lowest rate since 1993.
Brussels youth unemployment has also seen a continued decrease, for 71 consecutive months. Still at a relative high rate of 21% however, Actiris currently counts 8,064 young job seekers in brussels, which is 696 less than last year.
