Schools ask for cleaner air in Brussels and Antwerp

Every Friday, actions have been taken to ask for cleaner air around school entrances. These will end at the same time as the school year. Before the two-month holiday kick-off, several groups want to send a final signal by organizing an important action in Antwerp and Brussels Wednesday: “Let’s sti(c)k together.”

In the capital, children and parents are expected at 12.30 pm on the Béco embankment. At 1 pm, they will make their way to Fanfakids, an all-child band, on Sainctelette Square, which they will block, before proceeding to La Ferme in Maximilien Park where shows are planned.

“During the Sainctelette Square occupation, flowers, drawings and a word of explanation will be handed out to drivers put out by the action,” explains Annekatrien Verdickt, from the Filter Café Filtré group.

In Antwerp, similar actions will be organized. Rendezvous is given at 12 pm on the Stuivenbergplein for a picnic. At 1.30 pm, participants will march towards the Spoor Noord Park, accompanied by a band.
