The list of drugs unavailable in Belgium is becoming increasingly longer, the Belgian Pharmaceutical Association warned on Thursday, according to VTM Nieuws. “It is often possible to find a replacement solution, but we also sometimes have to send patients back to their doctors,” Association Spokesman Lieven Zwaenepoel said. “It’s evidently a problem.”
“There are 413 medicinal drugs unavailable today and others for which supplies are limited,”Zwaenepoel explained.
The multiple reasons for the shortage include the export of molecules initially destined for the Belgian market, production and distribution difficulties and stocks running out.
