Attempted murder in Court-Saint-Etienne

Nivelles Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday that a father and son from Court-Saint-Etienne Sunday have been placed under arrest for attempted murder. The two men, born in 1954 and 1981, were placed under arrest on Sunday after a failed ambush attempt. On Saturday at around 5:30 p.m., the son picked a man up in his car on Avenue des Combattants in Court-Saint-Etienne. The son then parked in the car park of the Parc à Mitrailles exhibition hall (PAM) where they both found the driver's father lying on the ground. It appears the victim went over to the man on the ground, who tried to stab him with a knife he had hidden on him. The victim then ran off and the father asked his son to fetch a gun that was hidden in a hedge nearby. The son did not fire the gun. The two alleged attackers were arrested in their vehicle, based on the witness statement of a passerby.

They were brought before Nivelles prosecutor on Sunday morning and then placed under arrest by the case's investigating judge.
