A young man from Huy in custody after injuring a police officer in Liège

A young man was handed over to the Liège Prosecutor’s office after injuring a police officer in the Carré area, according to the magistrate. Two officers intervened in a fight in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Carré area. When they got there, the fight was already over, but they were immediately surrounded by several individuals. One of them threw a bottle at one of the officer’s heads. The officer was injured, and cannot work for a week.

Reported by one of his friends, the suspected attacker was taken into custody at the police station. He is a Huy resident, born in 1995. During questioning, the young man was particularly unpleasant and aggressive with officers.

After being handed over to the Liège Prosecutor’s office on Saturday morning, he was presented to the investigating judge. An arrest warrant was requested.
