Antwerp Criminal Court has sentenced 27-year-old Deinze inhabitant Soufiane A. to a year in prison coupled with a 3-year suspended sentence for participation in the activities of a terrorist group. Soufiane A. was a member of Sharia4Belgium and fought in Syria, mainly alongside IS, for 9 months. On January 25th, 2014, he was arrested at Zaventem airport as he was returning injured from Syria. The court rejected his denial of being a member of a terrorist group.
