The 60th chamber of the criminal court in Brussels handed the former independent federal MP Laurent Louis a 6-month suspended sentence for negationism. The court also gave him a 6-month prison sentence suspended for years, a 3,000-euro fine and barred him from elected office for 6 years.

Laurent Louis was personally named in front of the court by the CCOJB (Coordination Committee for Jewish Organisations in Belgium) after making negationist and anti-Semitic remarks.

Laurent Louis wrote in his June 9th, 2015 blog post: “Yes Jean-Marie Le Pen said that gas chambers were only a detail in the history of World War 2, and people may find this shocking, but when you think about it, was he really wrong? (…)”
