Brussels Prosecution Service heads investigation for assault and battery between two lawyers

A female lawyer has pressed charges against one of her female colleagues for verbal threats, assault and battery and attempted murder, according to the daily La Dernière Heure (DH) on Monday. The Brussels Prosecution Service confirmed that an investigation is in progress for assault and battery. The lawyer was leaving an office on Auderghem’s Boulevard du Souverain when a women grabbed her, hit her and knocked her over, DH reported. Once on the ground, the perpetrator grabbed the victim by the throat and squeezed her neck forcefully for a prolonged period before passers-by intervened.

A police patrol car from the Marlow police zone brought the fight to an end. As yet, no explanation to justify this attack has been given. The female lawyer who allegedly perpetrated the attack runs a family mediation service. She was also involved politically within the FDF party (Francophone Democratic Federalists).
