Vehicles belonging to unlicensed taxi drivers operating illegally could be seized, Belgium’s final Court of Appeal has stated. As a result of this decision, the court quashed one made in March of this year, by a Brussels court, Mediahuis newspapers indicated on Monday.
The case ruling could deter certain drivers working for Uber who would thus be at risk of losing their vehicle.
A demonstration by properly licensed taxi drivers protesting against the “illegal competition” from Uber taxi drivers took place in Brussles last week.
