France handed two suspects in the Silvio Aquino murder over to Belgium on Friday morning, the Het Laatste Nieuws and Mediahuis papers reported on Saturday.
The two suspects had been on the run, and were arrested in a 4-star hotel in the South of France on the 15th of October.
They were handed over on Friday, in highly secure conditions on board a government plane. Transporting them by car was thought to be too risky, as investigators were worried about reprisals from the Aquino family, the Mediahuis papers claim.
The Het Laatste Nieuws says the two individuals were placed under arrest by the investigating judge, and taken into custody.
Two other men suspected of being involved in the murder of Silvio Aquino were arrested in Germany, but they are appealing against being extradited to Belgium.
