Body of 17-year-old female found in Anderlecht, minor suspect

The body of T., a 17-year-old girl, was found Monday evening in Anderlecht. One of her friends reported her disappearance earlier in the day; this young man, a minor, is considered a suspect, although it is yet unknown, in relation to the time, whether he was involved in the events. At this stage of the investigation, no hypothesis has been excluded, stated the Prosecutor’s Office of Brussels Tuesday, thus confirming information which appeared in Dernière Heure.

On Monday afternoon a young man mentioned the disappearance of T., a friend, to Brussels Midi Police. The precise nature of their relationship is unknown. The disappearance was taken to be serious and immediately considered cause for concern, with all means possible being applied for finding the adolescent. The body of the latter was found Monday near 8:00 p.m. in Anderlecht, not far from the ring and department stores, covered with leaves and branches, and having suffered several injuries, the origin of which are yet undetermined. The Prosecutor’s Office, staff of the forensics laboratory of the police and a forensic physician arrived on the scene. A judge was designated.

The autopsy of the body is underway; the results will not be made know on Tuesday. The Prosecutor’s Office has not excluded any possibility in relation to whether the death of the victim was related to an accidental fall or was the result of blows. The possible implication of the young man who alerted the fact of the disappearance of T. is being examined, and the decision of placing him at the disposal of judicial authorities has not yet been taken, added the Prosecutor’s Office.
