Body of woman fished out of the Charleroi-Bruxelles Canal

The body of a woman was discovered by firefighters in training Tuesday morning close to 9:00 in the Charleroi-Bruxelles Canal, Tubize police reported. While in training at the canal, firefighters from Nivelles receiving instruction discovered the body of a woman at the Ittre lock. They then called the Tubize firefighters who sent their divers to the location. The intervention of a forensic doctor who arrived on the site was ordered by the Wallonia Brabant Prosecutor’s Office. The cause of death of the victim remains to be determined.
