Jewish museum attack – France is calling for Medhi Nemmouche to be extradited

French judicial authorities asked for Mehdi Nemmouche to be extradited on the 25th of August. He is the main suspect in the attack on the Brussels Jewish Museum, La Dernière Heure reported on Saturday. The jihadist’s defence team is vigorously opposing it until he has been tried in Belgium.

Medhi Nemmouche is wanted in France for holding four journalists in Syria.

“Our client is not against his extradition per se, but against being physically present in France before the Belgian trial regarding the Brussels Jewish Museum attack is over”, said Sébastian Courtoy, Mr Nemmouche’s lawyer.

The Brussels Council Chamber will make its decision on the 3rd of November.
