A man appears before the Liège Prosecutor’s Office for assaulting a pregnant woman

A man who assaulted a pregnant woman outside a gynaecologist’s has been arrested, the Liège Prosecutor’s Office revealed on Saturday.

The suspect, who is in his thirties, is from Liège and was arrested Friday afternoon. He stole the handbag of a patient who is four months pregnant in the waiting room of a gynaecologist’s.

When he tried to get away, he was restrained by some of the witnesses and he knocked the victim over in the struggle. She has been signed off work for two months.

The suspect was arrested and remanded in custody. He has no criminal record. An instruction judge has been assigned to the case and an arrest warrant was issued.
