A man remanded in custody after a knife fight that left one seriously injured

A violent fight broke out between two men in the middle of the day on Friday. It happened on the corner of the Louise-Marie Park in rue de Bruxelles in Namur, the Namur Prosecutor’s Office has said. One of the two men was rushed to hospital for an injury that nearly cost him an arm, while the other was remanded in custody early on Saturday.

The attacker fled and was arrested a few hours later. The reason for the fight remains unclear. The suspect was due to be questioned Saturday morning.

The victim was signed off work for 30 days.

They will be interviewed to determine the circumstances behind the incident.
