Two Dutch women gang-raped in Antwerp

The Antwerp police and Office of the Public Prosecutor (OPP) have opened an investigation into the alleged gang-rape of two Dutch women, according to the Gazet van Antwerpen. Four suspects have been questioned, and the investigating judge has charged one of them, the OPP stated on Monday.

The incident occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday in a downtown hotel in Antwerp. The young women first went to a discotheque, where they made acquaintance with one or more suspects. They were then taken back to their hotel but cannot remember what happened after that. They were reportedly drugged and sexually abused.

One of the suspects went back to the hotel on Saturday evening and was held by the manager until the police arrived. Three other individuals have been questioned. They are suspected of rape, theft and culpable negligence.
