Clients and employees of a bank in La Hulpe were kept inside the establishment from Friday morning following the discovery of an envelope containing a suspicious powder, according to the Mazerine police precinct. The envelope was found a little after 9 a.m. in the BNP Paribas Fortis branch at the Square des Trois Colonnes. An employee sounded the alarm after opening it and discovering the powder inside. As a precaution, employees and customers present at the time were invited to remain in the building.
The suspicious powder was taken away for analysis by a civil protection team. The results were expected during the afternoon, a spokesperson of the local police precinct said.
