Man arrested for puncturing 300 car tires in Western France

A 27-year-old man arrested on Monday in Cholet, Western France, admitted to puncturing nearly 300 car tires on several streets on a Sunday morning in February, according to reports citing a judicial source. During his detention, the man explained that he had committed the act in a state of intoxication and irritation after arguing with a stranger on the street.

He was released on instructions from the prosecutor's office, pending an accurate inventory of the number of victims. To date, nearly 200 complaints have been registered, said Cholet Police Station.

In 2018, a forty-year-old man from Bordeaux was sentenced by the courts to 18 months in prison for puncturing the tires of nearly 6,000 cars between 2011 and 2017.
