New campaign focuses on remembering missing children

On International Missing Children's Day (25 May) Child Focus will launch a radio and television campaign to "inform people on the touching story that is behind the too neutral search warrants," the Foundation for missing and sexually exploited children said Wednesday.

"As long as we search for the missing children, they are still with us," is the slogan that Child Focus used for their television and radio spots to show viewers and listeners "parents’ souvenirs of their missing child."

The TV campaign was filmed by Belgian director Fien Troch. She "plunges us into the life of a couple and their son," Child Focus said. Each scene is a memory linked to a missing child. The spot will also be shown online by Missing Children Europe — the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children.

On radio, the association gives voice to parents of missing children.

The campaign will run from 18 to 26 May. There will be posters, as well as the distribution of more than 100,000 forget-me-nots (cloth or stickers), which is the symbol of remembrance and hope.
