The investigation of former Vice-Prime Minister and Home Secretary Joelle Milquet’s 2014 electoral campaign has moved forward with the nomination of an investigating judge by the public prosecutor, according to La Derniere Heure on Wednesday. On June 27th of last year, the general prosecutor in Brussels announced that a preliminary investigation was being launched into the 2014 electoral campaign
The magazine “Le Vif/L’Express” revealed that 6 months before the elections, new campaign collaborators were recruited within both her cabinets by the then Home Secretary in charge of Equal Opportunities, in February 2014. According to the magazine, these employees seemed to be solely there to prepare Joelle Milquet’s campaign in Brussels.
Many of these new recruits later ended up on the lists of cdH candidates.
