The head of the Intelligence service gave false information on attacks

Eddy Testelmans, the head of the military Intelligence service, gave false information on three attacks in Belgium in 2013. He said they were foiled thanks to the American Intelligence service (NSA). In reality, there were no attacks planned, De Tijd revealed on Wednesday. During an interview with MO magazine in 2013, Eddy Testelamns claimed that three attacks were stopped thanks to information handed over by the NSA.

“Three times, a possible terrorist attack was foiled thanks to information we believe came directly from Prism (the NSA’s controversial spy program). If the NSA hadn’t given us this information, we wouldn’t have known about them”, he had said at the time.

A Committee I report disputes the fact that three attacks were stopped thanks to the Americans. Eddy Testelmans has also admitted it in writing.
