Yellow jackets: Royal Belgian Road Transport Federation demands action

FEBETRA (Royal Belgian Road-Haulers and Logistics Service Providers Federation) wrote to Interior Minister Pieter De Crem, requesting that measures be taken to end the yellow jackets road blocks, Sudpresse titles report Thursday. FEBETRA sounds the alarm as it faces "actions which are causing a situation of intolerable insecurity."

"We sent a letter to Interior Minister Pieter De Crem," spokesperson Isabelle De Maegt confirmed. "We want the authorities to take measures to stop these road blocks," she continues. "Drivers and their vehicles are being attacked. The drivers are insulted, stones are thrown at trucks. Tension is rising," she described.

Within the Federation, many complaints are coming in. "This is what we ask our members to do," Ms. De Maegt said.
