'Free public transport is not a good idea,' says Schaerbeek's deputy mayor

“Free public transport is not a good idea.” What people want is “more buses, more seating, more comfort during peak hours," Schaerbeek deputy mayor Bernard Clerfayt (DéFI, Democratic Federalists) said on Sunday’s "L'invité" (RTL-tvi). The region’s top of the list also repeated that he will not cumulate mandates, whatever happens.

He said his party sees him as a good potential head of Brussels Government. Should this happen, he would leave Schaerbeek. If he has to settle for a parliamentary seat, he will hand it over to the next on the list.

Clerfayt was also pleased to see Charles Michel "join us" in his refusal to open Pandora's box of Constitutional articles for revision, after having left the N-VA (New Flemish Alliance) to its’ "sabotage "of state services.

He believes that it is time to ask civil society to assess the impact of state reform.

Clerfayt also reiterated his party’s opposition to a coalition with the N-VA.
