Ninth edition of Brussels Days: the best vintage of the event, according to Visitbrussels CEO

The ninth edition of Brussels Days held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Beijing contained the best vintage of this event organized each year for the last nine years by the Brussels Region.  The purpose of this event is to develop, at an international level, the economic and tourism assets as well as its know-how stated Visitbrussels CEO, Patrick Bontinck. These two days of seminars and meetings were organized with the participation of the Brussels Prime Minister Rudi Vervoort. Patrick Bontinck stated that the possibility for flights between Brussels and several cities China was a topic of discussion.

On Tuesday, the seminar and workshops was dedicated to the business and tourism sector and attracted 85 people from the Chinese world of congresses and meetings, the trade press and industry for luxury products.

Workshops held on Wednesday drew 91 people representing Chinese tour operators, media in the travel industry, online travel, international travel agencies and airlines, said the Visitbrussels CEO.

Patrick Bontinck also stressed that the Chinese tourism market offers significant prospects for 2020.

Hainan Airlines officials who met with Minister-President Rudi Vervoort affirmed that 200 million out of 1.36 billion Chinese peopl will travel by 2020. And Brussels, according to them, remains one of the least expensive destinations for luxury products.

Another asset is the development of the contemporary art field in Brussels, a field which is now booming in China.
