Delhaize recalls Heuschen and Schrouff’s Black Fungus

The Delhaize supermarket chain has asked their customers to bring Heuschen and Schrouff’s “dried Black Fungus” back to their stores. This is due to too much Bacillus cereus. The dried black mushrooms concerned will expire on the 30/06/2015. Their lot number is 2014304512. “In conjunction with the Federal Agency for Food Security (Afsca), we have decided to recall this product, which contains a worrying amount of Bacillus cereus”, Delhaize said in a press release on Saturday.

“Delhaize has already removed the product concerned from its stores. We ask customers who have bought them not to eat them, and to bring them back to a Delhaize store”, the chain added. They have said they will reimburse the product. “The Bacillus cereus toxins can cause vomiting and/or diarrhea in a few hours (1 to 16 hours) following consumption of contaminated products. If you have eaten this product and have these symptoms, you should go and see your GP”, Delhaize advises.
