Belgium is not a place for company headquarters

Among the large companies that operate in Belgium, only one in two has their headquarters here. This is a lot less than Germany, France, or the Netherlands, L’Echo reported on Wednesday. It was quoting the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The BCG has analysed the degree of power in the decision centres for large companies present in Belgium. Only 45% of them have power that reaches beyond Belgian’s borders: 37% have decision making power limited to Belgium, and the other 18% have no significant decision making power.

To set up a HQ, numerous criteria are taken into account. Cost, tax on work, flexibility, and the tax on profit are all factors that stop companies setting up HQs in Belgium.
