EIB (European Investment Bank), the European Union finance institution, and ING Belgium have signed an agreement as part of the Innovfin European programme, “in order to facilitate and increase the number of loans to innovating businesses in Belgium,” have revealed the 2 partners in a joint press release. “By offering a maximum 150-million-euro guarantee, EIB is allowing ING Belgium to grant financing facilities to innovating businesses for a total of 300 million euros,” they explain. “Thanks to this programme, ING Belgium will be able to offer more loans, including new loans to middle-market companies involved in projects in the fields of research, development, and innovation,” they add.

Based on risk sharing, the new financial tool aims to promote growth and creativity in Europe, further reveal ING and EIB.
