The number of bankruptcies registered during the first 6 months of 2015 comes in at 5,555, 2.4% fewer than last year, revealed the Ministry of the Economy on Thursday. The decrease reaches 15.1% in manufacturing and 3.6% in retail. Bankruptcies were down in Flanders (-5.6%) and Wallonia (-9.7%), but increased considerably in Brussels (+18.8%). 1,065 bankruptcies in June led to 2,243 job losses.
