Siemens and Bombardier discuss their rail operations

The German conglomerate Siemens is currently in tentative discussions with Canada's Bombardier about a possible merger of their railway operations, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Wednesday. Bombardier has a site in Bruges. The discussions are still in their preliminary stage and there are no guarantees they will come to an agreement. Bombardier is also talking with other potential partners. Analysts estimate Bombardier’s rail activities are worth 5 billion USD (4.5 billion euros).
