Belgian hotel industry attracting Belgian investment

According to the L’Echo daily on Friday, brokers are forecasting 2015 will be a record year for investments in the Belgian hotel industry. Real estate specialist John Lang LaSalle mentions investments amounting to 270 million euros and CBRE (real estate advisory) estimates 250-300 million euros.

In the hotel sector Brussels is a much smaller player than heavyweights such as Paris and London, or tourist hotspots like the  Côte d'Azur and the Italian Riviera. Yet in its class alongside similar large cities like Milan and Madrid, the capital of European holds its own.

According to Thomas Robet (CBRE) “2015 will be a record year. Several major deals are being signed and more will follow suit before the end of the year.” In the first quarter of 2015 270 million euros were invested in the Belgian hotel industry (80% in Brussels).
