AB InBev - SABMiller – New entity headquarters to stay in Belgium

The head office for the group created when AB InBev and its competitor SABMiller merge will remain stay in Belgium, reveals the press release announcing the agreement between the 2 breweries. “The takeover offer will result in the birth of a new group (NewCo) based in Belgium, which will take over 100% of AB InBev,” says the press release.

“We expect that this new company will be set up according to Belgian legislation and that its headquarters will be in Belgium,” explained a spokesperson for the world leader. It is too early to say where the operational headquarters will be located.

“Our Belgian roots go back several centuries and are an important part of our identity and cultural heritage,” added AB InBev’s spokeswoman. AB InBev’s HQ was recently rumoured to be set to be transferred from Louvain to London.
