First stores reopened

First stores reopened

The first MS Mode stores opened once again Thursday after the company went bankrupt in September; the company was purchased last week. All 24 stores saved from bankruptcy are to open by next week.

The liquidators announced last week that they had found a buyer – a relative of Dutch national Roland Kahn, the former owner – for the Belgian branch of the clothing store chain. The purchaser has committed to buying 24 of the 46 Belgian stores and approximately 60% of the total of 220. He must however negotiate new commercial leases for the stores, since they ceased to be in force on September 30th, in the midst of the bankruptcy announcement of mid-September.

By the weekend, 16 stores should reopen their doors, and all 24 – the list of which is available on the MS Mode internet site – by the end of next week.
