Scammers have been trying to exploit the technical problems at Argenta Bank, many of whose clients have reported phishing attempts -fraudulent attempts to obtain their information by email – in the past few hours. “We are aware of this,” a bank spokesperson commented. “Our Security Monitoring Department is permanently looking into the matter and having the phishing sites closed down.”
Argenta is warning its clients not to respond to e-mails asking them for their codes and has instructed them to contact one of its agencies when in doubt.
The bank also said on Wednesday that it was working to find a solution to its technical issues.
Argenta’s new online platform, activated over the Easter weekend, has been unable to manage its online traffic. This has led to problems such as delays in processing salary deposits. As a result, it has temporarily deactivated its application (app) and site.
