The National Bank of Paris, BNP Paribas, achieved good results in the second quarter of 2018 in Belgium in its retail services, grossing 345 million euros, an increase of 6%, the French bank said in its latest quarterly report. BNP Paribas, which conducts retail activities in Belgium through BNP Paribas Fortis, registered a 4.5%-increase in loans in Belgium in the second quarter, while deposits increased by 4.6%.
In the second quarter of this year, the BNP Paribas banking group achieved a stable net profit of -0.1% over a year. Its commercial dynamism was once again wiped out by the low interest rates and a slowdown in market operations. From April to the end of June, it made a net profit of close to 2.4 billion euros.
