Major Belgian brewers set to raise beer prices

Beers brewed by AB InBev and Alken-Maes will be more expensive from January 1 in bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

The price of a barrel (50 litres) of Stella will increase by 6 euro and a barrel of Jupiler will go up by 2.70 euro.

Alken-Maes will also be increasing the price of its products from 1 January in shops, whereas the Horeca sector will not be concerned until February 1.

The brewer does not however provide any details concerning the amount of the increase.

Alcohol-free beers will be unaffected by the increase.
