The EDF group has just created a company specialising in operating and maintaining windmill and solar parks in Belgium. The Belgian branch of EDF Luminus is called EDF EN services Belgium. It will to work for EDF Luminus on windmill parks, but also on competitor’s parks, L’Echo said on Thursday. Including the Olen-Geel park, which will open on the 19th of March, EDF Luminus has 194 MW in the shape of windmills. The new branch will start with the three oldest EDF Luminus parks. The maker’s maintenance contracts are coming to an end.
“We will start with 5 people, based in Villers-le-Bouillet, nearest the first parks we will work on. They are in Wanze, Villers-le-Bouillet and Walcourt”, says Wouter Holbrecht, manager of the new branch. It will grow as the branch develops.
