The Rossel group victim of a cyber-attack

The Rossel group, which owns Le Soir, the Sudpresse and Vlan newspapers, was the target of a cyber-attack on Sunday evening, around 7.30 pm. The internet sites Sudinfo and lesoir.be have been unavailable since. The group’s management originally thought it was a technical problem that had hit the whole system. At around 9.30pm, it was discovered they had been hacked, Didier Hamann, general director of Le Soir, said to the Belga agency. “We are trying to determine the origin of the attack, he said. “We have deactivated the internet sites, to avoid contamination or the attack spreading further. We were able to start the system up again internally”. This mean that Monday morning’s paper editions will still go out. Le Soir and all the Sudpresse papers will go out as normal, says Demetrio Scagliola, from Sudpresse.
