The privacy commission modernizes its website to help young people protect themselves.

The commission’s private life campaign launched on Tuesday, following the Safer Internet day, the new version of the www.jedecide.be website, it was aimed at helping young people protect their private lives as well as other aspects along these lines. The website, that exists since 2009 was modernized and is composed of a series of videos with the purpose of providing advice and proposing answers to young people about how to manage their private lives. It also composes advice for parents and teaching material on these problems.

“Private life is omnipresent! Whether it be online or offline, it be at school or in a sports environment. Therefore it is important to take care of this issue!” underlines the Commission

The key issue is that young people should take conscience and pay attention, as well as be aware and be able to decide what they share online and to whom they share it. They should also be aware of the Apps they install and use, most importantly  when they turn on their webcams.

Taking advantage of “Safer internet day for a safer internet” the center for equality Unia and similar organizations have decided to join their forces to incite big social networks like facebook  to remove as soon as possible any messages of hate. Unia will present a report to the European commission in march
