On Monday morning, the ECB decided to increase the emergency aid for Greek banks again (ELA), a source connected to the Greek banks has said. They added that ECB governors could increase it yet again “at any time” if need be. The amount it will be increased by has not been revealed. It is the third time it has been increased since Wednesday, to deal with Greek people withdrawing their savings en masse. The Greek bank source said “the governors could meet at any time” to decide to increase aid if necessary. It could even be “today or tomorrow”, depending on the results of the marathon discussions between Greece and its creditors taking place in Brussels today. There will be a European summit afterwards.
