Putin says he holds no grudge, ready to reach out to Europe

Russia is "ready to reach out" to Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Friday, stating that he bore no grudge following the European Union’s decision to extend sanctions imposed after Moscow’s annexation of Crimea. "We hold no grudge and we are willing to reach out to our European partners,” Putin said at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, “but, obviously, this cannot be one-sided.”

“We have to restore confidence in Russian-European ties and a level of interaction,” he said, adding that Russia had not initiated the breaking-off of ties with the European Union.
