European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström said on Thursday that she expected the European Union, as a whole, to be on the list of countries exempted from US tariffs on steel and aluminium that US President Donald Trump is to announce during the day. “This afternoon he will make an announcement on possible exclusions”, Malmström told European parliamentarians after a two-day visit to Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday. “We expect to be on that list; we don’t know for sure.”
In the final analysis, it’s the President who decides, she added.
