EU and Canada to bring together female Ministers for Foreign Affairs in September

The European Union and Canada want to bring together female ministers for Foreign Affairs in September, announced both on the fringe of the G7 summit in Toronto on Sunday.

“To push forward equality between genders is a priority for our G7,’’ stated the Canadian Minister for Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland on Twitter, after having announced the summit jointly with the European diplomat Federica Mogherini.

Ms. Freeland had placed this weekend’s meeting under the sign of women and met Saturday with Ministers for Foreign Affairs from Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Jamaica, Colombia, Croatia and Panama - all women.
