The body of diver Marc Sluszny recovered

The body of Antwerp diver Marc Sluszny has been found, VTM NIEUWS reported on Monday. Sluszny had gone missing in late June during a plunge in the Gulf of Font d'Estramar at Salses-le-Château, near the French town of Perpignan.

His diving partner had been able to reach the surface and alert the rescue services.

The gulf where Sluszny disappeared has been the scene of many fatal accidents, including one that occurred during the search for his body.

Marc Sluszny had been a member of the Belgian Davis Cup tennis team and was also an accomplished fencer. A lover of extreme sports, he set a number of records, including for swimming across the English Channel, sky jumping from a balloon, climbing the Annapurna without an oxygen mask and gliding above the Andes.
