Nine ski centres open in Liège and Luxembourg

Nine ski centres in the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg are open this week thanks to heavy snowfall in the past few hours. A layer of about 20 centimetres of snow was recorded in various centres.

The centres include Signal de Botrange, Baraque Michel, Maison du Parc – Botrange and Mont Spinette in the Hautes Fagnes, along with Manderfeld, Losheimergraben and Rocherath (Eifel Ski Centrum).

The Thier des Rexhons resort was scheduled to open at midday, with only the cross-country ski and toboggan runs accessible to the public. The alpine ski courses are scheduled to be open from Tuesday. “Our site will be open to skiers throughout the week,” its management announced.

The Ovifat alpine ski centre will also be open from Tuesday 29 January. Its three ski slopes (blue, green and red) and toboggan run will all be accessible. The centre had had to close its doors on Sunday due to thaws after being open for four days.

Alpine ski lovers will also be able to go to la Baraque Fraiture in Luxembourg Province. Slopes there were open today.

This is the second time the ski stations are open this season. They had also opened their doors from 20 to 25 January, after the first snowfalls in Belgium.
